Welcome to Popes Mead Bowls Club
Popes Mead is a long-established club, having celebrated its centenary in 2018.
We are proud of our very well-maintained green, looked after by our own club members. There is also an all-weather green for year-round bowling.
Experienced bowlers and new bowlers are very welcome. For new bowlers, there are club coaches to help and advise on bowling techniques. Age is no barrier to bowls.
It is a myth that bowling is only for older people. There are many young people involved in bowling.
We have a busy summer season of bowling, with fixtures against various clubs in the areas of Sussex and Surrey. This provides good social contact, as well as friendly and competitive matches.
We have a splendid clubhouse with its own kitchen and bar. During the winter months, we host various social activities. These include short mat bowls, darts evenings, quizzes, bingo, and horse and dog racing in various forms.
